History of Firestone Agricultural tyres
The Firestone tyre company was founded in 1900 by Harvey S. Firestone in Akron, Ohio. In 1932, Harvey S. Firestone, originally a farmer, developed the world’s first pneumatic tractor tyre. Today, Firestone is a part of the Bridgestone Corporation, the largest tyre and rubber company in the world. The company employs over 130,000 people and has annual sales revenues of well over $25,000 million. The Global head office is located in Tokyo with the UK headquarters in Warwick. Bridgestone Europe operates an R&D centre, 8 plants and offices in more than 30 European countries, with over 13,000 employees.
