Goodride Tyres
Accidental Tyre Damage Guarantee
Peace of Mind Motoring
Excellence In Quality
Goodride Tyres are manufactured to the highest standards, using advanced equipment and top quality materials. In addition, Goodride tyres undergo rigorous product testing processes at all stages of development and manufacture. For these reasons, Goodride Tyres are so confident of the quality and reliability of our tyres, we guarantee it.
How To Make A Claim
To make a Goodride tyre Accidental Damage Guarantee claim, return the tyre to the branch it was purchased from. The retailer will then process the damaged tyre as a ‘claim tyre’ as per our ISO9001 working practice, and as such customers will be sold a new Goodride tyre, with the damaged tyre being sent for examination. A credit will then be issued for the relevant amount based on the remaining tread depth & the nature of the damage to the tyre being within the terms & conditions of the Goodride Accidental Tyre Damage Guarantee.
How Is My Percentage Calculated?
Your Goodride tyre Dealer will measure the remaining legal tread on your tyre. The tread will be measured in the centre and on the edges of the tyre to ensure an accurate and consistent reading. If any measurements on the tyre are below 2mm, no credit will be given. The decision of the individual participating Goodride Tyre Dealer is final. The table [left] shows how the amount of remaining legal tread is converted to a percentage claim allowance. This allowance is then redeemed as a percentage discount against the current selling price of your new replacement Goodride tyre excluding the wheel balance and valve ware fitted. The terms of this guarantee require that the replacement tyre fitted is the same size as the original and is a Goodride tyre. Your old damaged tyre will be retained by the dealer.
What If I Want To Change To Another Brand Of Tyre?
You can’t make a claim under this guarantee if you wish to switch to another tyre brand. However, if your Goodride Tyre Dealer believes that your tyre may have failed due to a manufacturing fault rather than due to accidental damage, they will be more than happy to send it back to the manufacturer through the official tyre industry adjudication process. Only after the adjudication process has been completed and a manufacturing fault found, will a percentage allowance be made based on the remaining legal tread on the tyre. You can then use this allowance to affect a discount against any replacement tyre brand you choose to purchase. The manufacturer’s decision will be final.
Guarantee Exclusions
The Guarantee covers material or manufacturing defects, and irreparable damage caused by normal road use.
It excludes damage caused by the following:
- A mechanical defect in the vehicle
- Use of unsuitable wheels
- Not maintaining correct tyre pressures
- Carrying or towing loads in excess of vehicle specifications
- Improper or prolonged use of snow chains
- Competition use
- Removal of a wheel or poor fitting of the tyre
- Acts of God, fire, vandalism or theft
- Road traffic accident damage or ensuing problems
- Use of tyre that doesn’t match the vehicle specification
Tyre Safety
Goodride Tyres recommend the following key areas should be checked to ensure your tyres continue to perform safely and efficiently.
Tread Depth
All tread depths including the spare must be greater than the UK legal minimum limit of 1.6mm, in a continuous band throughout the central ¾ of the tread width, around the entire circumference of the tyre.
Note: Grip diminishes progressively with wear and as a consequence stopping distances increase – especially in the wet.
Tyre Pressures
Tyre pressures should be checked & maintained regularly to the vehicle’s recommended tyre size pressure. To set tyre pressures accurately, always check & adjust tyre pressures when the tyre is cold.
Excessive (high) tyre pressure can lead to:
Increased chance of a blow-out
Excessive wear on the centre of the tread
Reduced road grip (cornering & braking)
Less comfortable driving experience. (Harsher, bumpier ride)
Low tyre pressure can lead to:
Structural damage due to overheating
Increased vehicle fuel consumption
A reduction in grip
Irregular and premature wear of the tyre shoulder areas
Wheel Alignment (Tracking)
The vehicle’s wheel alignment (tracking) should be checked at regular intervals. Poor wheel alignment causes irregular and premature tyre wear resulting in the need to replace the tyres more frequently.
Inspect your tyres regularly for visible signs of damage, such as cuts or bulges in the sidewall or uneven wear. Have any damage checked over by your tyre retailer as soon as possible.
Terms & Conditions
This guarantee applies to Goodride tyres only and will be honoured only by participating Goodride Tyre Dealers for the life of the tyres or when the tyres reach a tread depth of 2mm, whichever comes first.
This guarantee is valid provided there is a minimum tread depth of 2mm on the tyre.
All claims must be accompanied by an invoice issued at the time of purchase, the tyre having been balanced and a new valve fitted where necessary by an authorised Goodride Tyre Dealer.
You will be charged in full for the replacement Goodride tyre. A credit/refund, based on the damage tyres remaining tread depth, will be issued once all of the terms & conditions of the Goodride Accidental Tyre Damage Guarantee are met.
The tyre must have been used for normal road use. Off-road use, racing, deliberate or malicious damage will invalidate the guarantee.
This guarantee does not cover 4×4 (All-Terrain & Mud-Terrain), Van or Motorsport tyres.
The extended guarantee is limited to cars and car-derived vans and expressly excludes vans, pickups, car-derived campers, taxis, private hire, and driving school vehicles.
Run-flat tyres are not included under this guarantee.
The remaining tread depth of the tyre will be judged by taking an average of three tread depth readings around the centre of the tyre, none of which must be below 2mm.
Tyres with a suspected manufacturing fault or tyres irreparably damaged will be replaced at the rates on the remaining tread depth chart above.
The guarantee applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable. This guarantee does not cover rapid or uneven wear caused by vehicle defects. This guarantee is invalid if the tyre is removed or repaired by any other company or individual.
If a tyre is deemed repairable by your retailer it will be repaired free of charge and not replaced. Any punctures sustained during the period covered will be repaired to British standard BSAU/159 free of charge. Repairs can only be undertaken to the repairable tread area of the tyre.
This guarantee only covers replacement tyres equivalent or greater than the OE recommended speed and load index..
This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights which are unaffected.
