Width
The first set of numbers on the tyre reading is the overall width of the tyre in mm. Which is measured from sidewall to sidewall and not thye width of the tread pattern.
In this example the tyre width is 205mm.
Sidewall Height
After the forward slash is the sidewall height (Aspect ratio)which is shown as a percentage of the overall width of the tyre.
In this example the tyre has a sidewall height (aspect ratio)
In this eaxample it is 55, meaning the tyre’s sidewall height is 55% of its overall Width.
Rim Size
The next set of numbers after the tyre construction letter, (R') represents the wheel diameter the tyre in inches the tyre will fit on.
In this example, the diameter of the tyre/rim is 16 inches.
Speed Index
As illustrated, the speed index of the tyre is the last letter in the tyre size sequence.
Note: the 91 is the load index table reference number which denotes how much load the tyre can carry.
