With many areas of Lincolnshire experiencing severe winds on Thursday afternoon, the Environmental Agencey later issued flood warnings for coastal towns – including Boston, Hull and Grimsby!
Although many people in Boston were evacuated from their homes, after the River Haven burst its banks, and surrounding areas were on flood watch, our Bush Tyres depots have survived what’s been said to be the worst storm surge since 1953, and all branches are open for business as usual.
Driving through flood water can be extremely harmful to your car, and can cause dangerous problems, including issues with your engine and brakes.
An excessive amount of water can cause rapid and unexpected loss of brakes under normal operating conditions, and if water enters your engine your battery* may face serious damage.
If you had to venture out in the wind and floods yesterday, and you feel that your car may have been affected, then there’s no need to worry – you can visit, or call any one of our 18 depots and we’ll check your car for you, and give our professional advice on what actions you may need to take.
