Michelin Super Sport tyres were chosen as the best option to handle the Vipers 8.3ltr V10 engine which produces 500Bhp and enables the car to go from 0-100 and back again in 13.2 seconds.
Michelin Super Sport tyres were specially engineered for ultra high perfornce tuned cars and super sports cars. The concept for the tyre came from endurance racing with a brief to give the most exhilarating drive possible.
One of the main features of Michelin Super Sport tyre is shorter braking distances offering better safety in the most demanding of conditions. Super Sport tyres have a variable tension belt (Twaron® Belt) that ensures greater stability as it grips the centre of the tread more than the shoulder area. This reduces centrifugal force and distributes these forces more evenly giving better control.
Another key feature is the dual-compound of the tyre. The benefits of this are, extreme endurance even under tight cornering and increased wet grip as the tread compound moulds itself to the slightest irregularities in the road surface.
Add all of the above to a tyre that has a Variable Contact Patch (2.0) enabling the tyre to have the same contact area of tread on the road maintained, when cornering hard or going fast in a straight line, you have a tyre that can, & does, handle anything a super car can throw at it.
