First use of Haweka Quick Plate on Porsche 911 Carrera S 992
Article written by Bush TyresLast month we told you that as part of our commitment to always offer our customers the best level of service, we have introduced the Haweka QuickPlate for precision wheel balancing.
One of our first uses of the Haweka QuickPlate was on this Porsche 911 Carrera S 992 back in November which came in for a full set of Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 NA5 Porsche fitment winter tyres in 245/35R20 and 305/30R21. Using the QuickPlate system the team at our Horncastle branch were able to make sure the tyre and wheel combination were balanced perfectly.
The Haweka QuickPlate enables us to mount the wheel on the wheel balancer just like the wheel would be mounted on the vehicle hub. This simulates the hub of the vehicle, X-axis alignment (centre of wheel) and the QuickPlate simulates the wheel nuts. Mounting the wheel in this way applies equal pressure to the stud holes as well as locating the wheel on the spigot correctly, therefor optimising the centring of the wheel on the balancer.
You can find out more about the benefits of the Haweka QuickPlate in our blog about precision wheel balancing at Bush Tyres centres.
The Pilot Alpin 5 is a performance winter tyre which has been designed to meet the needs of of high-performance car drivers and has been used to equip world leading high performance vehicles from not only Porsche but also Audi, BMW and Mercedes. These manufacturers demand exacting high standards, a tyre that performs impeccably and looks exquisite too. The Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 winter road tyre is also finished with a premium, stylish dark velvet effect on the sidewall.

Something a bit different visited our Spilsby depot earlier in the year. ‘Gasser Champ’ Sean Milsom brought in some loose wheels for new tyres to be fitted to his modified Morris Van ahead of competing at Santa Pod and Melbourne Raceways in the ‘Gasser Circus’ race series.
This 1972 Plymouth ‘Roadrunner’ visited our Horncastle Branch recently for a wheel alignment. This huge American muscle car has a 6.6 litre 402 cubic inch V8. With great power comes great responsibility........
