Michelin Axiobib 2 VF Tyres for John Deere 8370R Tractor

Article written by Bush Tyres

Our Wolds Commercial team recently fitted VF800/70R38 and VF600/70R30 Michelin Axiobib 2 tyres to this 2015, 370HP John Deere 8370R tractor.

With emphasis on protecting soil health, fitting the correct tyres to tractors and farm machinery is more important than ever. To cause the least amount of damage to soil, the tyres on tractors and other machinery need to operate at low inflation pressures. For spring cultivation and planting, Wolds Commercial Bushmobile team recently equipped this 2015, 370HP John Deere 8370R with the latest VF800/70R38 and VF600/70R30 Michelin Axiobib 2 tyres.

Thanks to Michelin "UltraFlex" technology these VF (Very High Flexion) tyres can be operated at very low pressures of down to 0.6 bar (8.7 psi). With the tyre pressures set at minimum inflation pressure for the load on the tyre, the tyres footprint area is greatly increased which spreads the machine weight over a larger surface area and reduces soil compaction. As well as lower ground pressure, with a larger footprint area, traction is also improved, giving growers greater productivity, lower fuel consumption and higher yields. Michelin Axiobib 2 tyres are suitable for tractors from 160HP up to 550HP.

If you are thinking about replacing the tyres on your tractor, it is worth considering converting to VF tyres. As a rule, VF tyres will carry up to 40% more load at the same inflation pressure than a non-VF radial tyre of the same size.
