Number 47 Modified Morris Van is Super Fast!

Hot Rod Morris Van Series Z

Something a bit different visited our Spilsby depot earlier in the year. ‘Gasser Champ’ Sean Milsom brought in some loose wheels for new tyres to be fitted to his modified Morris Van, better known as Ain’t Misbhehavin’ ahead of competing at Santa Pod and Melbourne Raceways in the ‘Gasser Circus’ race series.

Morris Z-Van

This highly modified Morris van began life as a more humble workhorse. The Z series van was produced between 1940-54 and over 51000 units were produced, based on the Morris Eight saloon car it was eventually replaced with the O-Type (Minor) Van in 1953. Some of our older readers will remember these vans being a familiar sight, used by the Post Office for many years in the same dark green livery with black fenders as this heavily modified version which is a great way of acknowledging the vans history.

The beautifully restored body houses a mighty 347ci engine propelling the van to multiple competition wins up and down the country. The van is also cooled using a custom Serck Motorsport– UK Alluvium Radiator and fan. This van can be seen running quarter mile times around the 10 second mark, given many high-performance supercars such as Bugatti and McLaren only break into mid-level or high 9 second quarter times this is a mightily impressive build.

Tyre Fitting service

You don’t need to own a modified Morris van or supercar to take advantage of our change of tyre service.  We can fit new tyres on any loose wheels you bring into branch, and we can also help with fitting your own tyres to those loose wheels.

At this time of year especially you may be swapping over from your summer to winter tyres. Bush tyres can provide this swap over service, many branches also offer a ‘tyre hotel’ storage option to save keeping the tyres in your shed/garage at home (please ask individual branches for more information on this service). Removing old or worn tyres, Bush tyres can also dispose of your old tyres in an environmentally responsible way.

Supplied by Bush or simply fitted, you can always rely on the best service possible using highly trained professionals and the latest tyre fitting and wheel balancing equipment. Any wheels removed are always re-fitted using manufacturer’s torque settings and calibrated wrenches.

A completely free of charge follow up re-torque is also available and recommended after fitting for complete peace of mind.
