New Dura-Bright Forged Aluminum Wheels for FHO British Superbikes team race hub!

Article written by Bush Tyres

Our Bushmobile mobile tyre fitting team were called out to Louth to fit new wheels for the FHO Racing British Superbikes racing team’s Mercedes race hub truck.

The team fitted 4 9.00×22.5 Alcoa Dura-Bright® EVO Forged Aluminum Wheels, 2 membranes and 40 Alcoa ALcover caps.

Alcoa® Wheels advanced the transportation industry with the first forged aluminium wheel in 1948, and have been reinventing it ever since. Their wheels are forged from one solid block of aluminium, with an 8 000 tons press, the block is forged into a wheel shape. Once forged, the wheels are heat-treated to maximize overall mechanical strengths.
Benefits of Alcoa® Wheels:

  • Forged Alcoa Wheels withstand a load of 71 200 kg before deforming.
  • By switching from steel to aluminium Alcoa® Wheels you can easily save up to 51% in weight, depending on the wheel size.
  • Aluminium is 3 times more conductive than steel and dissipates heat better, resulting in less tyre wear and an increased life duration of brakes and suspension.
  • Aluminium is 100% recyclable.
  • Looks great!
