Toyo Tyres - New Factory
As part of the launch of the new Open Country A/T III, Bush Tyres were invited to Serbia to visit the new manufacturing plant. The factory is a 150-acre, state-of-the-art facility in the Indjija municipality of Serbia. The factory directly employs over 580 staff and represents a total investment of over 390.5m Euros.
Toyo UK Managing Director ‘Colin Pears’ said: “This is a sizeable steppingstone in our history as it signifies the fruition of our plans to reduce lead times on supply to our UK customers”. (Tyretradenews, May23)
The new site in Serbia boasts world class technology, it features a VMI Maxx Radial Passenger tyre machine. One of the most advanced tyre machines currently available. It is capable of producing a car tyre every 44seconds! The factory has also been given the title of being a “smart factory.” This is due to the use of an outstanding product management system and optimization.
The factory has installed one of the biggest solar power plants in Serbia, an incredible 8.4MW solar panel array produces 10.15GWh of energy per year and will also help reduce Co2 emissions by over 7000 tonnes a year and over 200,000 tonnes in its total life span.
Tyre production at this factory is as near to carbon neutral as possible. The factory is expected to deliver over FIVE MILLION tyres a year by the end of 2023 to help meet demand for Toyo tyres in the UK and EU markets.
The factory also has its own proving ground. A 720-metre straight section within a total of 1690m of track is where our directors and representatives were able to see the performance of the new A/T III first hand. This facility also allows the on-site R&D team to quickly identify areas for improvement all on one site.
Toyo Tyres UK Ltd Unveil the New Open Country A/T III
The new Toyo Open Country A/T III is ready for anything road surfaces and weather conditions can throw at it. Its main strengths are in the performance on wet roads surfaces, excellent build quality, and durability with a long-lasting tread life, thanks to the premium tread compounding.
The tread, void areas, and lateral grooves are well constructed and distributed, minimising the level of noise generated on the road. As a result, drivers can enjoy a smooth and quiet ride.
Whether you drive a heavy pickup, SUV, or offroad saloon, the Toyo A/T III will deliver for your needs and driving requirements.
The Toyo A/T III comes with seven options with different sizes and specifications for users to choose from. Notably fitments for Land Rover and Range Rover as well as various offerings from Audi Q7 to Volvo XC90. The standard and lightest version is the 215/75R15, suitable for light and regular vehicles going up to 285/50 R20.
On the road Toyo A/T III will deliver a smooth performance on summer surfaces but equally perform whether it’s wet or slippery for the ultimate peace of mind and producing more traction than the older AT Plus. It also meets the severe snow service requirements; all sizes are branded with the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The tyre material is less vulnerable to cuts and chips, or damage caused on the road, perhaps by potholes. The grip delivered is outstanding for both on and off-road terrains. There are some other eye-catching features like the 3D multi-wave sipes, stone-ejecting blocks, and large shoulder lugs. All of which make this tyre more robust for longevity and performance.
Don’t forget, this September and October, Bush tyres and Toyo Tyres UK are giving customers the chance to win a £500 holiday voucher. Buy any Toyo tyres online or in branch and you will be in with a chance of winning a £500 hotel gift card.
